Woodstone Creek is Ohio's first licensed microdistillery.

Ohio's microdistillery license allows up to 500 barrels of spirit per year. Limits vary by state. Small distilleries are becoming the newest growth segment in the specialty spirits industry across the country.

Woodstone Creek uses a direct-fired "potstill" which concentrates flavor - as opposed to "column" distillation which neutralizes flavor. Woodstone also uses the finest ingredients. As true single barrel, each barrel is distilled, aged and bottled individually - not blended with other barrels.

Many of our spirits are in the aging phase. The bourbon, from our own five grain recipe, and malt whisky labels will be numbered. Each barrel will have an individual character all it's own which cannot be duplicated.

Our spirits will have limited distribution. We will bottle 2-5 barrels a year.

First two barrels of bourbon were packaged under this label in wine bottles. Mash bill the same: three malted grains - rye, white wheat, barley - with white and yellow corn at 51%. Direct fire potstilled - twice. Not chill filtered and no color added. Barreled at 107 proof - dilution to 94. Both barrels released 2008. Barrel #2 was released first on July 4th to commemorate the passage of the new self sales permit in Ohio. Barrel #1 was released at Thanksgiving to celebrate the sold out Barrel #2. Barrel #1 was, consequently, 6 months older than Barrel #2. The barrel bottled in hot weather is somewhat mellower with a little more smoke. Contrary to rumors circulating on the internet, no peated grains were used in these two barrels.
First batch of corn based Cincinnati Vodka circa 2006. Note the pig. If you're not familiar - Cincinnati's mascot is the flying pig. Our original intention was to sell our vodka only in the Cincinnati area, so we thought it was appropriate to flaunt our pig.

Redesigned second batch, also corn based, of Cincinnati Vodka in 2008. Cincinnati Vodka had left home with distribution to two other states - a side panel was added to explain the pig.

Woodstone Creek rebrands with the release of our 10 year old Single Peated Malt Whiskey. Featuring premium glass with heavy clear base and metallic foil labels. Limited edition of 192 individually numbered bottles. This is the barrel that Jim Murray sampled and gave a 92 in the Whisky Bible.

Our 94 Proof Premium Dry Gin, in the new package, was released May 1st.

100 Proof White Wheat Vodka, also in the premium packaging, was released October 1st

Note to Aspiring Distillers: We are more than happy to talk, in general terms, about our products with tasting room customers. However, we do not offer distilling lessons to aspiring distillers or licensure advice during our retail hours. All microdistilleries must adhere to a combination of local, state and federal regulations specific to their location and business format. These regulations need to be researched carefully as they apply to your situation. This information is available from public resources. If you desire professional consulting services, we consider fee based contracts on a case by case basis. An appointment is required. The consulting side of our business sells commercial equipment and supplies only - we do not supply hobbyists. All home distillation for the purpose of consumption or sale is a violation of federal law - we will not discuss this activity with you.
